KAMWENGE -Yunisent Mubangizi, popularly known as Afande Muki Omugogozi, has officially been nominated to contest for the Kamwenge District LCV Chairperson seat in the upcoming National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries.
The nomination took place at 9:30 AM this morning and was officiated by Babiha Jane Alisemera, the Commissioner of the NRM Electoral Commission. The event attracted party supporters and local leaders, signaling a heated political season ahead in Kamwenge.
Speaking shortly after his nomination, Mubangizi expressed gratitude for the opportunity and urged residents of Kamwenge to support his bid, promising inclusive leadership and equitable service delivery.
“I am fully committed to ensuring that government services reach every corner of Kamwenge,” Mubangizi said.
“We are going to roll out development initiatives that will transform the livelihoods of our people — from improved infrastructure and education to enhanced healthcare and agricultural productivity.”

Known for his grassroots mobilization and community engagement, Mubangizi pledged to be a servant leader who prioritizes the needs of ordinary citizens.
He also emphasized unity within the NRM and called for a peaceful and issue-based campaign.
Mubangizi’s nomination adds momentum to the race for Kamwenge’s top district seat, setting the stage for a competitive primary election as other candidates prepare to submit their nominations in the coming days.

The NRM primaries are scheduled to take place later this year, with party members across the district expected to vote for their preferred flagbearers.
