Spice Diana Urges Artists to Maintain Friendship After Management Breakups

Spice Diana

Spice Diana has advocated for the amicable parting of ways between artists and their respective record labels or managements if they reach a point where they cannot agree on particular matters.

The songstress, who released a statement confirming that she has walked away from Roger Lubega’s Source management, says that despite going separate ways on business terms, the spirit of friendship and family should never be broken between former colleagues.

In recent years, a couple of local artists have found it hard to move on after ditching their record labels, and continue struggling through endless battles with their former managers.

Spice Diana, however, is not a fan of cutting ties completely with her ex-managers as she believes she has to co-exist peacefully in the same business space.

You have to rely on the things you have done together and the respect. That’s why I invited Emma Carlos to my previous concert because I had worked with him as my manager before. I may part ways with the management, but they can still be able to call me if they want me to do anything for them.

Sometimes, people lack humanity; they take it on strictly business terms, and management wants to take everything, including the brand name and catalogue, from an artist when they part ways. I believe it has to be amicable because you’re both still operating in the same business and still need each other.

Having worked with someone for more than four years, you would have become friends and family, which I don’t think business can break. You both have to move in separate ways, but be open to existing in the same space without any issues.
