KABALE – Kigezi Ultimate Events and Technologies has officially launched the Kingdom Sound Band, a gospel music group aimed at spreading the Word of God and empowering young people across the Kigezi sub-region.
The band was launched on Saturday at White Horse Inn in the Central Division of Kabale Municipality during a ceremony attended by religious leaders, youth representatives, music lovers, and members of the public.
Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of Kigezi Ultimate Events and Technologies, Mr. Drake Naturinda, said the Kingdom Sound Band was established to use music as a tool for evangelism and spiritual transformation within communities.
Naturinda explained that the Kingdom Sound Band is one of the several departments under Kigezi Ultimate Events and Technologies, a company that offers a range of services including sound system hire, information technology solutions, live streaming services, and the assembly and installation of sound systems.
He revealed that the company is also planning to establish a skilling hub in the near future to equip young people with practical skills that can improve their livelihoods and create employment opportunities.
“Our vision goes beyond entertainment and technology services. We want to create opportunities that empower young people socially, spiritually, and economically. The Kingdom Sound Band is one of the initiatives through which we intend to achieve that goal,” Naturinda said.
He noted that unlike many other music groups, the Kingdom Sound Band will exclusively focus on gospel music as a means of spreading Christian values and promoting faith among people of all ages.
Naturinda said the band will provide a platform for talented young people to use their musical abilities to serve God while also earning a living through their talents.
“The Kingdom Sound Band is dedicated to preaching the Gospel through music. We believe that music is a powerful tool that can transform lives and bring people closer to God. Through this initiative, we want to inspire positive change in society while nurturing talent among the youth,” he said.
He further explained that the project is intended to keep young people actively engaged in productive activities and shield them from negative influences such as drug abuse, criminal activities, and peer pressure.
According to Naturinda, many young people in the region possess immense talent but often lack opportunities and support systems to help them develop their abilities. He said the Kingdom Sound Band will provide a structured environment where young people can grow their musical careers while contributing positively to society.
He added that members of the band will benefit financially from their participation in performances and other activities, helping them improve their standards of living while pursuing their passion for music.
Naturinda called upon the people of Kigezi to embrace and support the initiative, describing it as a noble cause that will contribute to both spiritual growth and youth development.
“I appeal to churches, community leaders, parents, and all well-wishers to support this initiative. Together, we can use music to spread the Gospel and create a brighter future for our young people,” he said.
Representing the chief guest, Bishop Emeritus George Bagamuhunda, Rev. Emmanuel Akankwasa Mateka welcomed the establishment of the Kingdom Sound Band and praised the organizers for investing in an initiative that combines evangelism with youth empowerment.
Rev. Mateka said the project will play a significant role in spreading the Gospel among young people, many of whom are increasingly influenced by modern social challenges.
He noted that music remains one of the most effective methods of communicating the Christian message because it has the ability to reach a wide audience and leave a lasting impact on listeners.
“Music carries messages beyond the walls of churches and reaches people in different places and circumstances. Through gospel music, many people can encounter the Word of God and be encouraged to live righteous lives,” Rev. Mateka said.
He described the launch of the Kingdom Sound Band as timely, noting that it comes at a period when many young people need guidance, mentorship, and opportunities to channel their energy into meaningful and productive activities.
Rev. Mateka encouraged the youth who join the band to remain disciplined, committed, and focused on their mission of serving God through their talents.
He also urged religious institutions and community leaders to support initiatives that promote moral values and create opportunities for young people to realize their potential.
Guests who attended the launch expressed optimism that the Kingdom Sound Band will become an important platform for evangelism, talent development, and youth empowerment in the Kigezi region and beyond.
The Kingdom Sound Band is expected to begin organizing gospel concerts, church performances, community outreach programs, and other evangelistic activities aimed at spreading the Gospel while nurturing musical talent among young people in the region.
