Wydad Casablanca Table $700,000 Bid for Uganda Cranes Star Allan Okello

Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Casablanca have reportedly entered the race for Uganda Cranes playmaker Allan Okello, with the North African giants said to have tabled a lucrative offer for the Young Africans midfielder.

According to several reports in Tanzania and Morocco, Wydad have submitted a bid worth $700,000 (approximately UGX 2.6 billion) in an attempt to prise Okello away from the Tanzanian champions.

However, Yanga are understood to have drawn a firm line in the sand, valuing their prized Ugandan asset at $1 million (approximately UGX 3.7 billion). The club will reportedly only sanction his departure if an interested suitor matches their valuation in full.

Okello has rapidly transformed himself into one of Yanga’s most influential attacking weapons since arriving from Ugandan champions Vipers SC in January this year.

The 26-year-old still has approximately one year and five months remaining on his contract, giving the Tanzanian giants considerable leverage in negotiations.

His maiden campaign in Tanzania has been nothing short of spectacular.

Okello played a pivotal role in Yanga’s successful 2025/26 league title defence, producing an outstanding return of 14 goals and eight assists in 23 appearances.

Those numbers have inevitably amplified his stock beyond Tanzania, with Wydad now seemingly positioning themselves to lure the technically gifted midfielder to Morocco.

Before any potential transfer developments gather momentum, however, Okello is expected to once again occupy centre stage for Yanga ahead of the CAF Champions League.

The Ugandan is meanwhile, set to feature when Yanga lock horns with arch-rivals Simba SC in the Community Shield at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on Wednesday, with the fixture offering another opportunity for Okello to underline why his signature is attracting attention from one of Africa’s most decorated clubs.
