Youri Tielemans has finally joined Manchester United after years of pursuit. The Belgian midfielder signed a five‑year deal in July when United triggered his £35m release clause at Aston Villa.
“I owe Villa the world. It is a great club, but Manchester United is above them,” Tielemans said.
He has already impressed in a brief outing against PSG, linking naturally with Bruno Fernandes. Settling in has been eased by familiar faces like Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford, whom he praised for his humility and quality.
Manager Michael Carrick wants Tielemans to orchestrate play with freedom. “It is just smelling football, which is what I have been doing since Anderlecht,” he explained.
