Club Canvas Takes Campus Party Experience to Muteesa I Royal University

Music, fashion and campus creativity came together at Muteesa I Royal University on Friday, October 16, as Club Pilsener brought its Club Canvas Campus Takeover to the university’s Freshers’ Ball. Held at the main Kakeeka Mengo Campus in Kampala, the celebration welcomed the first-year cohort of the 2026/2027 academic year with an evening of performances and pageantry.

Students gathered in large numbers for a party that began in the evening and continued until midnight. For the new arrivals, it marked their official welcome to university social life. For Club Canvas, it provided another setting in which to bring its blend of entertainment and creative expression directly into a campus community.

The experience featured VIP Jemo, John Blaq and Anknown, alongside Splash Kachupa and Mimi Kampala. The mix gave students a range of performers to follow through the evening, placing established names on the same programme as entertainers connected to the campus scene.

Behind the decks, DJ TUS, associated with Fundas Promotions, delivered dance mixes that kept the audience engaged between the live performances. Sir Jace MC coordinated the stage experience, guiding the crowd through the different entertainment segments and the evening’s pageantry.

The takeover carried the Club Canvas identity into an occasion that already held significance for the university. Music provided the soundtrack, while the performers and dance moments brought artistic expression to the stage. Fashion found a particularly visible place in the Mr. and Mrs. Fresher competition, where first-year contestants presented their style, confidence and personality before the student audience.

That combination gave the event several points of interest beyond the musical lineup. Students could follow their favourite performers, enjoy the DJ sessions and support contestants representing their new class. Club Pilsener’s involvement placed Club Canvas within that shared welcome experience, connecting the brand with adult campus audiences through an event rooted in their own university calendar.

Muteesa I Royal followed earlier Club Canvas Campus Takeovers at Garden Courts Hostel in Makerere, Bavana Hostel in Kyambogo on September 25, and Fundas Grounds opposite Akamwesi Hostel in MUBS on October 9.

Each stop brought the platform into a different student community. At Muteesa I Royal, the Freshers’ Ball gave the takeover a distinct character, combining the excitement of a new academic year with live entertainment and the search for the faces of the incoming class.

The experience also travelled beyond the grounds through student recaps, dance videos and campus reels shared after the event. Those posts captured different perspectives on the night, extending its visibility through the students themselves.

The pageant concluded with the crowning of Mr. Fresher 2026 and Mrs. Fresher 2026, giving the incoming cohort its representatives for the academic session and providing a defining moment in an evening shaped by Club Canvas music, fashion and performance.
