KABALE -Hon. Andrew Aja Baryayanga has officially been nominated to contest in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries for the Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament seat.
Accompanied by few supporters, Hon. Baryayanga presented his nomination papers at the National Resistance Movement, NRM Electoral Commission offices in Kyadondo, Kampala marking his official return to the race for parliamentary representation.
Speaking after his nomination, Baryayanga reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Kabale Municipality and called on voters to rally behind him as he seeks to reclaim the seat.
He said that during his previous term as Member of Parliament, he served as an independent but has since joined the NRM in response to overwhelming calls from Kabale residents under the saying “#AJAGARUKA”.

“When I was MP, I served as an independent. But due to the demands of the people of Kabale Municipality and the residents at large, I have decided to join the NRM to push for the party and President Museveni’s development agenda,” Baryayanga said.
“I want to bring Kabale Municipality back on the map.”Hon. Baryayanga is widely known for his exceptional lobbying skills, grassroots mobilization, and efforts in empowering both women and men through social and economic initiatives.
He has also been instrumental in developing youth talent and creating opportunities for the unemployed.
With a track record of advocating for better services and community development, Baryayanga’s return to the race has energized his supporters and introduced new momentum to the Kabale Municipality political scene.
As the NRM primaries draw nearer, the contest in Kabale Municipality is expected to intensify, with several candidates eyeing the party flag to represent the constituency in the 2026 general elections.
