Kabale District, Uganda – In a sweeping victory that underscores his influence and popularity, supporters of Minister David Bahati have secured all sub-county chairperson positions in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party elections held today across Kabale District where this decisive win is seen as a strategic advantage for Minister Bahati, who serves as Uganda’s State Minister for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives (Industry), as well as the Ndorwa County West legislator to win the next NRM chairman for Kabale District.The elections, which were keenly contested, saw Minister Bahati’s allies clinch key leadership roles in various sub-counties, solidifying his political base and enhancing his prospects in the upcoming district party chairperson race and the successful outcome reflects the minister’s strong grassroots support and effective mobilization efforts within the NRM ranks.
Minister Bahati, known for his dedication to community development and economic growth, has been instrumental in driving initiatives that resonate with the local populace, and his leadership in Kabale District has focused on promoting industrialization and cooperative movements, aligning with national goals to boost household incomes, Unity, and strengthen the party through the four core principles of NRM that includes Patriotism, Pan-africanism, Democracy and Socio-Economic Transformation.
The newly elected sub-county chairpersons are expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the NRM’s agenda at the local level, ensuring that party policies are effectively implemented and that community needs are addressed aligning with Minister Bahati and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s vision promises continuity and stability within the district’s political landscape.
