RUKUNGIRI -President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has officially handed over the NRM flag to Mathias Mwesirwa Rwabugumi as the party’s flag bearer for Rubabo County.
The announcement was made today during the President’s visit to Rukungiri Main Stadium.
In his remarks, President Museveni urged the public to support NRM flag bearers in the upcoming general elections, saying this is the only way to sustain development in the area.
Speaking to our reporter after receiving the flag, Rwabugumi called on the people of Rubabo to put the primaries behind them and focus on the general elections.
He pledged to support all NRM flag bearers in Rubabo County, from LC1 to the presidential level.
Rwabugumi expressed excitement and confidence as he intensifies grassroots mobilization, noting that the President’s visit has boosted the party’s strength and reaffirmed its achievements. He said showcasing the flag publicly is a sign of unity and readiness for the upcoming elections.
He further pledged to promote peace, unity, and sustainable development across the constituency.
Rwabugumi assured voters of a peaceful and issue-based campaign, urging supporters to prioritize ideas that advance Rubabo’s development agenda.
He also committed to ensuring transparency in the flow of government and NRM movement funds to villages through close coordination with local leaders.
