The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential Candidate, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has urged the people of Isingiro District to fully utilize the growing government development interventions to transform their households and create sustainable wealth.
Addressing supporters during the NRM presidential campaign rally in Isingiro District, Ankole Sub-region, Gen. Museveni emphasized the importance of strategic investment and effective use of government socioeconomic empowerment funds.
“The development programs we have brought such as PDM, Emyooga, and other wealth creation initiatives are meant to elevate you and your families,”Museveni said.
“Use these funds well. Invest with calculations and focus on projects that give clear economic returns.”
Gen. Museveni took time to explain the broader NRM wealth creation vision for Ugandans, highlighting individuals and households whose lives have improved through embracing commercial agriculture and enterprise development.
He encouraged the people of Isingiro to adopt projects that match their land sizes, noting that both small-scale and large-scale landowners can profit if they choose appropriate enterprises.“Even on four acres, you can do wonders,” he explained.
“That is why we have the Four-Acre Model—coffee, fruits, zero-grazing cows, poultry or pigs, plus food for home consumption. When done well, this model guarantees income and food security.”
The NRM Presidential Candidate further highlighted the vast job creation potential in commercial agriculture, manufacturing, the services sector, and ICT.
He noted that the NRM government has significantly invested in industrialization, leading to more employment opportunities for Ugandans.
“Industries are coming up across the country, and they are employing thousands. Agriculture, manufacturing, services, and ICT all have enormous opportunities for our young people,” Museveni added.
Gen. Museveni also pointed to the success of large commercial plantations, including palm oil and other industrial crops, as part of the strategy to shift Ugandans from subsistence farming to commercial production.
Meanwhile, the NRM 2nd National Vice Chairperson (Female), Rt. Hon. Anita Among, rallied party structures in Isingiro District to intensify mobilization ahead of the general elections.“The NRM must secure victory.
I call upon all our structures to guard the vote and strengthen our campaigns everywhere,” she said.
The rally attracted thousands of supporters who pledged overwhelming support for the NRM and its development agenda for the region.
