Museveni Urges Rubanda Leaders to Secure Land for Industrial Park

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential Candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has urged leaders in Rubanda District to secure at least 150 acres of land to pave the way for the establishment of an industrial park aimed at boosting job creation and wealth generation in the region.

While addressing residents and district leadership at Kabirizi playground in Rubanda District, Museveni said Uganda’s industrialization drive is steadily transforming the country, citing successful industrial parks in Namanve, Mbale, Tororo and other areas.

He noted that similar development in Rubanda would expand opportunities for the people of Kigezi Sub-region.

Museveni encouraged the people of Rubanda to take advantage of emerging opportunities in commercial agriculture, manufacturing, and the services sector.

He emphasized that the government is committed to accelerating programs that promote widespread wealth creation.The NRM flag bearer reminded residents of the 1996 NRM manifesto guidelines on wealth creation for both small- and large-scale landowners.

He advised prospective wealth creators to align themselves with these principles to maximize productivity and income.

Drawing from various examples across the country, Museveni highlighted success stories in agro-industrial ventures and value addition, calling on the people of Rubanda to emulate them.

He stressed that with the right strategy and government support, households in Rubanda can significantly improve their livelihoods.

Museveni concluded by reiterating the need for unity and strategic planning as Rubanda positions itself for industrial growth and economic transformation.
