Rukiga MP Bish Rolland Appeals for Issue-Based Voting as He Seeks Re-Election

RUKIGA -Rukiga County’s incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Bish Rolland Ndyomugyenyi, has called on residents to support leaders based on merit and proven capability rather than political party affiliations.

Hon. Bish, who is seeking re-election as an independent candidate, made the remarks on Saturday while launching his campaign program at Nyakasiru Muruka Headquarters in Nyakasiru Parish, Bukinda Subcounty.

Addressing a large gathering, he reminded voters that political parties are created by people and should not be used to divide or intimidate communities.

He cautioned residents against electing leaders simply because they dish out money, urging them instead to choose candidates with a strong vision and the capacity to deliver.

Hon. Bish also expressed gratitude to the people of Rukiga for the overwhelming support they accorded him in the previous election.

The legislator outlined several achievements from his term in office, including the distribution of free solar panels to households, provision of free onion seeds to farmers, improvements in the health and education sectors, road upgrades across the constituency, and offering bursaries to numerous students.

He pledged to renovate the district Rukiiko Hall and further enhance education infrastructure. Hon. Bish added that his education support program will expand after securing additional sponsors.

Speaking during the event, Bukinda Subcounty LC5 Lady Councillor, Brendah Ainembabazi, applauded Hon. Bish for his continued support to the district.

She said the council has successfully passed and implemented key development budgets due to his facilitation. Ainembabazi commended him for improving roads and supporting many learners through school fees payments.

Several residents who attended the launch praised the MP for his contributions during his term, with many noting that they had shifted their support from other candidates to rally behind him in the upcoming elections.
