State Minister David Bahati Urges NRM Supporters to Actively Participate in Grassroots Elections

He urged members to carefully consider candidates who can make meaningful contributions toward strengthening the NRM at all levels, from the village to the national stage.

Kabale, Uganda – The State Minister for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, Hon. David Bahati, who also serves as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party chairman for Kabale District, has called on NRM supporters to actively engage in the upcoming grassroots elections scheduled for Tuesday emphasizing the importance of electing leaders who are loyal to the party and committed to advancing its vision and objectives.

He urged members to carefully consider candidates who can make meaningful contributions toward strengthening the NRM at all levels, from the village to the national stage.

Minister Bahati in an interview with our reporter explained that these grassroots elections are critical for the future of our party, and It is through these structures that we build a strong foundation for the NRM’s continued success encouraging all party members to participate fully and ensure that we elect leaders who are dedicated, trustworthy, and capable of driving the party forward.

Minister Bahati says, the grassroots elections will see NRM members voting for leaders in various positions within the party’s local structures where these elections are seen as an opportunity to consolidate the party’s presence and influence across the country, ensuring that it remains connected to the needs and aspirations of Ugandans at the community level highlighting the role of grassroots leaders in mobilizing support for the party’s initiatives and policies, noting that their efforts are essential for maintaining unity and fostering development within the NRM.

He called on party members to work together to uphold the values of the movement but also remain united and focused on our shared goals arguing the citizens should use this election process to strengthen their bonds and choose leaders who will represent us effectively.

The call to action by Hon. Bahati comes at a time when political parties across Uganda are gearing up for grassroots activities aimed at solidifying their structures ahead of 2026 National General elections.
