KABALE -Hon. Gaudiozo Kabondo, the NRM Election Regional Team Leader, has commended the Kigezi Sub-Region for conducting peaceful and well-organized party structure elections.
Speaking at the NRM offices in Kabale District on Saturday evening, Kabondo lauded the region for holding elections free from petitions and controversies, unlike other parts of the country.
“In many regions, the election process has been marred by petitions and disputes. However, Kigezi has so far registered none, which is a great achievement,” Kabondo noted.
He was addressing party members during an event where Phillip Zikampereza, the newly appointed NRM Secretary for Finance, donated cooking utensils to the Kabale District NRM office. Zikampereza, who also serves as the NRM Chairperson for Kahungye Sub-county, will play a key role in coordinating financial matters within the party.
Kabondo emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and transparency as Uganda heads into another election cycle.
He praised the NRM Secretariat for its effective organization and commitment to upholding democratic values at the grassroots level.
“As we approach the general elections, the peace and order demonstrated in these party structure elections should be an example to the rest of the country,” he added.
Meanwhile, Phillip Zikampereza highlighted the significance of the donated materials in enhancing the operations and welfare of the Kabale District NRM team.
Zikampereza noted that the items would go a long way in supporting the day-to-day activities of the party’s leadership at the district level.
“These donations are not just items — they are tools that will empower our teams to work more efficiently and serve the party and the people better,” said Zikampereza.
He thanked the NRM Secretariat and all stakeholders involved in the support, saying the gesture demonstrates the party’s commitment to strengthening its structures and motivating grassroots leaders.
Zikampereza also pledged transparency and proper management of all party resources under his docket, ensuring that the donations benefit the intended recipients.
Edison Turyahabwa alias Political, the Kabale District NRM Publicity Secretary, revealed the development, stating that providing cooked meals at the office will significantly support the team in executing their day-to-day duties effectively.
“This initiative is not just about food—it’s about boosting productivity and ensuring our staff have the energy and comfort needed to serve the public and party structures diligently,” Turyahabwa noted.
He added that the NRM office handles numerous administrative and mobilization tasks, and the provision of meals will reduce disruptions and encourage more focus and teamwork.
Turyahabwa reaffirmed the NRM’s commitment to strengthening internal operations and delivering better service to its supporters and the wider community.
