National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, on Friday intensified his campaign trail in northern Uganda, holding rallies in Lamwo and Kitgum districts where he promised to deliver justice and compensation for families affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) war.
Addressing a large crowd in Kitgum, Kyagulanyi said the Acholi community has suffered decades of marginalization and unfulfilled promises under the current government.
Kyagulanyi accused the government of abandoning war victims and failing to offer full compensation for property and lives lost during the LRA insurgency.
“The LRA insurgency left many of your families devastated and the wounds are still fresh. The regime did not fully compensate you for the property lost during this particular war,” he told them.
“The NUP government intends to reconcile and compensate you deservingly to ensure that all the affected families get justice. The new Uganda shall be convenient for all,” he added.
Earlier in Lamwo District, Kyagulanyi urged residents to demand better services and reject what he described as short-term election-season incentives from the ruling party.
“People of Acholi, be vocal and demand for social services that fit in the taxes you pay. Do not be brainwashed by the breadcrumbs offered by the criminal regime and its agents during this electoral season,” he said.
He further encouraged voters to rally behind NUP candidates across the board.
“Your voice will only be heard once you vote for the umbrella across all electoral positions,” he said.
Kyagulanyi continues his mobilisation tour in the Acholi Sub-region and is expected to hold rallies today in Agago and Pader Districts as he seeks to consolidate support ahead of the 2026 elections.
