Senior Presidential advisor Peace Rugambwa, MP Prossy Mbabazi Rally Rubanda Residents on Collective Development

Rubanda-The Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and Local People Affairs, Peace Rugambwa, has urged communities to embrace collective development initiatives aimed at boosting household incomes and strengthening local economies.

Rugambwa made the call on Tuesday while meeting hundreds of residents at Volcano Hotel and Muko Market in Rubanda District.

She emphasized the importance of socio-economic transformation through SACCOs and cooperatives, a message that resonated strongly with locals who expressed unity and commitment toward community-driven development.

She noted that empowering communities to form and strengthen SACCOs and cooperatives will positively impact their livelihoods by increasing access to financial services, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing economic stability.

“When communities work together through SACCOs and cooperatives, they gain greater financial inclusion and create opportunities for sustainable growth,” Rugambwa said.

Rugambwa further commended President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership, noting that his continued support for community empowerment programs provides a strong foundation for achieving long-term economic transformation.

Meanwhile, Prossy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi, the Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament and Commissioner of Parliament, also encouraged boda boda riders in the district to form cooperatives at the parish level to make it easier for them to access government programs designed to improve household incomes.

She explained that since the NRM government’s priority is to boost local incomes, it becomes easier for the government to support people who are well organized in groups.

Hon. Mbabazi also urged women under the Prosperous Women Rubanda Group to remain united and dedicated to their initiatives, adding that she would share their progress with the President during his next visit to Rubanda.

The engagement in Rubanda was part of Rugambwa’s ongoing efforts to mobilize communities across the country toward self-reliance and inclusive economic development.
